COVID-19

The next few weeks we will all be in uncharted waters as we become more educated about COVID-19. While this is a time of great uncertainty and concern we want to assure you, we are committed to protecting you and your families should you need our help.
Over the past twenty six years, during my career with the Sheriff's Office, our county has been through many tough times. We all remember past emergencies and disasters that have devastated many families, including the flooding of Thomasville and throughout the county. It was during these times that I watched Oregon County residents pull together and take care of each other. I know we will get through this as well. Please follow our health department and CDC guidelines so we can protect our most vulnerable. I know our ambulance service, first responders, police departments and fire departments will be there for you as well.
At our office we are implementing safety precautions as well so we can protect you and our staff from the spread of this virus.
1. Please phone our office at 417-778-7888 instead of coming into the lobby. Please inform us if you or someone in your household has a fever, cough and difficulty breathing.
2. Non-emergency calls will be evaluated to determine if a Deputy can take your report over the phone or if the Deputy needs to respond to your location. Please call 911 if it is an emergency.
3. Conceal and Carry Applications will, at this time, continue to be processed as normal.
4. Registered Sex Offenders will, at this time, continue to be processed as normal. The office administrator will be contacting registered offenders by phone as well. Deputies will continue to ensure registered offenders are in compliance as well.
5. Jail visitations will be limited to immediate family members, who are Missouri residents.
6. Fingerprinting services are suspended until further notice except for emergency personnel.
7. We will continue to patrol as always and if you are in need of anything please call 417-778-7888
Thank you for your patience and caring.

Sheriff Eric King
